What are Cuddle Bug Cloverleaf Swaddling Blankets?
Cuddle Bug Cloverleaf Swaddling Blankets are simple, yet brilliantly designed blankets for newborn infants. They are made of two layers of warm, snugly 100% cotton flannel: one side printed, the other your choice of five different solid colors (pink, blue, green, lavender and yellow). They are a wonderful compliment to our other fine Cuddle Bug products.

Experts generally agree that swaddling newborns (wrapping them snugly in a blanket) during the first few weeks of life calms and soothes them. Newborns feel snug and secure when they are swaddled, mimicking the feel of being in the womb. After 3-5 weeks, as baby becomes more accustom to the world, experts recommend discontinuing swaddling. This encourages baby to flex arms and legs and develop their muscles and coordination.

Cloverleaf Swaddling Blankets Have Multiple Uses
Chances are you have never seen an infant blanket quite like a Cuddle Bug Cloverleaf Blanket. They are ideal swaddling blankets. Swaddling sounds easy, but as many new parents are quick to learn, it is not as simple as it looks. However, the unique cloverleaf shape of our blanket makes swaddling a snap, by eliminating the extra bulk created from the corners of square blankets. See below for swaddling techniques.

The Cuddle Bug Cloverleaf Blanket also makes an excellent blanket for use in an infant carrier or car seat. Again, its unique design removes bulk, leaving the cutaway space for the car seat buckle, yet plenty of blanket to wrap baby’s arms and legs.

Once baby is old enough to discontinue swaddling, the Cloverleaf Blanket is still a useful and versatile blanket. It is large enough for a play mat, nursing privacy throw, or other general purpose blanket.

Cuddle Bug Cloverleaf Swaddling Blankets Are Easy To Care For
The Cloverleaf Blankets are easy care machine wash and dry. For more information, please see Care Instructions. They are made of two layers of 100% cotton flannel (solid color on the front and juvenile-theme print on the back). They measure approximately 34”x34.” All Cuddle Bug Cloverleaf Blankets are proudly handcrafted in the USA.

To Swaddle Baby:
Open Cuddle Bug Cloverleaf Blanket with one “leaf” on top, one on bottom and two on the sides. Lay baby with head positioned toward the center of the upper leaf.
Fold bottom leaf up over baby’s legs and tummy.
Fold one side leaf across baby’s tummy and tuck under the baby’s other shoulder.
Fold over side leaf across baby’s tummy and wrap under baby’s back. That’s it! Baby is snuggled up ready to go.

For car seat use, use the blanket at a slightly different angle. Place blanket into seat with two sets of indents centered top to bottom, rather than two leaves. (This way, one indent will allow space for the lower car seat buckle.). With the blanket still open, buckle baby. Then fold over the top two leaves over baby’s arms and the bottom two leaves over baby’s legs. Baby is snuggled up ready to go!
